Construction time lapse video

The construction site for Solar Field 2 was busy as usual today, and I captured about 45 minutes of action in the sped-up video below. You can see a crane lifting segments of stair-railing to the top of the tower where they will be welded in place. A cherry picker is being used for access to the western side of the receiver, and people are visible going up and down the scaffolding on the right.

Although cloud cover like this won’t be as welcome when the system is operational, I think it makes a dramatic background to this video.
